●Policy on the Organization and Implementation of the Educational Curriculum (Curriculum Policy)
At Fukushima Medical University School of Medicine, our educational philosophy and goals are defined by the principles of "Mind, Intellect, Skills, Harmony, and Community". We are dedicated to training compassionate medical professionals and researchers who can make significant contributions to health care, medical services, and welfare. In pursuit of this goal, we've established our Diploma Policy and Competency Objectives, which detail the knowledge and skills students are expected to have by the time they graduate. To facilitate the acquisition of these competencies, we've implemented a comprehensive spiral curriculum for all six years of study. This curriculum follows the core curriculum of medical education and organizes advanced courses in a spiral fashion.

Our consistent, spiral curriculum is underpinned by a holistic approach to medical education that integrates comprehensive science, life sciences/social medicine, and clinical medicine. This system allows for a fluid exchange between these areas of study, enabling students to learn progressively over a six-year period, with the curriculum adapting to their individual growth and level of mastery.

We've also partnered with affiliated hospitals to provide a unified clinical training curriculum that bridges the gap between undergraduate education and postgraduate residency and fellowship training.

In light of the ever-expanding field of medical knowledge, we place great emphasis on fostering an attitude of lifelong learning in our students. We accomplish this through the implementation of integrated lectures and practical training, ensuring sufficient active learning programs to cultivate our students' self-study skills.

Finally, we measure student progress against our curriculum and competency objectives through a comprehensive evaluation process. This process includes consideration of attendance, classroom behavior, examination results, presentation content, reports, and practicum self-evaluation in accordance with our university's course regulations.
